THE TRUTH OF LIFE

The scenery seemed to pass slowly as we moved forward. My coffee was getting cold, so I drank all of it in a single sip. The train leaned slightly on the tracks and voices from the stations echoed in three different languages, making me annoyed. For the first time since taking my seat I had become aware of the conversations around me; phrases by elder ones, hushed words uttered by a group and silent words by the newlywed couple. The anxiety started and made me rub my chin. I was thankful as a discarded newspaper was lying on the seat opposite me. It took me two more minutes to decide whether to pick that paper or to leave it as it was. Finally I grabbed it and began reading, as passing time was always easier when I had something to read. I eventually came to a small article on fourth page. I paused, reread it and something was stuck in my mind.

The article was written in simple, matter of fact manner, with a bold heading Accident blew the family. It said- a young couple with a two year old child were returning from a party, their car pulled up outside their home. Mother and son got out of the car and went inside as father had to park the car. He got into the car and started reverse driving; the child came back through the front door and toddled towards the car. Father reversed without seeing, tragedy happened.  Mother could not stand up to the loss of her son and committed suicide. Below that article was a photo, three figures standing closely and smiling brightly, I could not recognize myself in that image.

Tears found their way from my eyes. I couldn't help it. Everything flashed in my memory like reels of picture and I closed my eyes for a moment. The image of a family photograph taken by a stranger the year before appeared in my mind, never fading or dissolving. Three figures standing closely, smiling brightly, and that brightness reached their eyes. Those captured moments were the happiest ones of my life. That incident changed everything and I still felt the guilt for the sin that I had committed.

I started to shiver as the truth was difficult to shallow and again I observed my surrounding briefly, they were busy in their own world. I took the old photo out of my shirt pocket and stared at it, that smile was no more on my face. A dull sun brightened the compartment. Putting the photo again in my pocket, I looked out of the window and thought life was full of surprises-in one moment it can take you to the height of eternity and then the next it can shatter you.

“Don’t turn your face away.

Once you’ve seen, you can no longer act like you don’t know.
Open your eyes to the truth. It’s all around you.
Don’t deny what the eyes to your soul have revealed to you.”

EK VILLAIN

Story Line-:

Ek Villain movie is based on the character Guru who is quiet, tough and ruthless boy, working for a politician, Prahlad. A dark past refuses to let Guru sleep at night until he meets a girl, Aisha. He falls in love with her, his life changes and he convinces Aisha to get married to him. Guru even quits his job and moves from Goa to Mumbai to make a new beginning with Aisha. Just when things seem perfect, she falls prey to an attack. ADVERTISEMENT Devastated, Guru starts hunting the miscreant and is shocked to learn of his seemingly innocuous and simple identity. Something is amiss and Guru is unable to place a finger on the precise problem. Who is the real assailant? Does Guru succeed in getting even with the assailant? And what is the motive behind her killing? The plot thickens as the astonishing mystery unveils and new realizations come to the forefront.

My Review-:

I had waited long for this movie and hoped to see it in cinema hall, but that failed due to my busy schedule. So I watched it today in my laptop and after that a broad smile was there on my face.

Mohit Suri’s romance thriller is doing amazing on box-office. The first reason behind it is the attention grabbing trailers and the astonishing music generated hype for this movie, second reason is the mesmerizing acting and third reason is the time reverse narration that was too perfectly and beautifully.

Ankit Tiwari has blessed this movie with stupendous songs like “Galliyan”, “Banjaara”, “zaroorat”, “ Awari ”,“ Hamdard” each of the tracks is affecting and will leave an imprint in your mind.

Guru, a hardy, merciless character played by Sidharth Malhotra is a surprising revelation in this movie as you can see so much understanding in his eyes. He handles lot of complicated situation effortlessly and portrays himself as an angry young man. He proved himself as a promising actor and ready to take risk in near future.

Aisha, a fun-loving, cute and spiritual girl played by Sradha Kapoor performs in another movie which can increase her fan followings. She is natural and put enthusiasm in her performance. Her cute-yet-silly jokes sometimes makes you smile. This time Sradha’s character is quite different than Ashique 2 which she portrays skilfully.

Rakesh played by Ritesh Deshmukh delivers his role efficiently. I have always seen him playing a comic role but this time he portrays himself as a sadist and intense character that has the grey sides as well as deep dark sides, which counts as a plus point in his carrier. The supporting casts have done an appropriate job.

Recently I read in an article that this movie is similar to a Korean movie I SAW THE DEVIL [2010], since I haven’t seen the Korean one so it’s fine for me. There are some facts like the female protagonist’s fatal disease, remained unexplained throughout the movie and the thriller part was a little less as the scene can be predicted before it happens.

This movie is a whole package of heart warming characters, stunning music, promising screenplay and unique narration style which will capture you and compel you towards itself so I would recommend it to all. My rating is 4 out of 5 as it is a gifted movie and it will soon reach its mile stone at 100 crores club.

Thank you for stopping by, I read each and every comment. So please leave a comment to improve me.

2 STATES 2014 MOVIE

Initial release-: April 17, 2014
Director-: Abhishek Verma
Running time-: 149 minutes
Adapted from-: 2 states: the story of my marriage

STORY LINE-:

This is a story about a romantic journey of a culturally opposite couple - Krish Malhotra and Ananya Swaminathan. They meet at the IIM-Ahmedabad College and during the program they fall in love. Complications arise after the program comes to an end and they decide to get married. Krish and Ananya belong to two different states of India; Krish, a North Indian Punjabi boy from Delhi, Ananya, a Tamilian Brahmin from Chennai. They take a conscious decision; they won't get married until their parents agree. Everything goes downhill when the parents meet. There is a cultural clash and the parents oppose the wedding. To convert their love story into a love marriage, the couple faces a tough battle in front of them. It is easy to fight and rebel, but much harder to convince. Will Krish and Ananya's love for each other sustain the battles? Will they manage to convince their parents and make it to their wedding?

My Review-:

I went to watch the movie with my friend. After watching it I had decided to write a review but due to my exam that plan delayed. Abhishek Verma’s 2 states is the novel adaption of chetan bhagat’s semi autobiography. This movie concerns about the north-south division and the cultural barrier arises between two families of main protagonists.

This movie justify the phrase that, in India you don’t just marry the boy or girl, you marry the entire family. It also does proper justice to Chetan Bhagat’s work.

Krish Malhotra (played by Arjun Kapoor) is a confident, afraid to grown up man; once he is attached to someone he does his best to protect the special one. I fall for Ajun in this movie due to his cute dance steps (Lochha-e-ulffat), his appearance as Punjabi with spectacle and his immature character which was childish at first (remember when he freaks out after seeing ananya in shorts and the confession of his feelings).

Ananya  Swaminathan (Alia Bhatt) is a fresh, carefree and lovable south Indian Brahmin girl. Alia steal the show from Arjun by her performance, she is natural throughout the movie. I didn’t realize when did she grown up and put sparkles in her performance, she exactly know when to and how much have to implement emotion in the right time.

Ronit Roy (who play Krish’s father), a perfect antagonist enters to the scene with full force and the troubled relationship between father and son is portrayed beautifully. Amrita singh (who plays Krish’s mother) is a typical Punjabi mother, who always cracks a joke on expenses and never let go a chance to humiliate the south Indian.

The romance between the main protagonists is amazing and the romance flows smoothly in a roller coaster path, sometimes up and sometimes down. But those who have already read the novel may not be find this movie convincing.

It is a simple story but well said and the moral of the movie is “it’s easy to flee or elope but it takes a lot of effort to convince.” So i can give 4 out of 5 stars to this movie for incredible narration, miraculous screen play and extraordinary performance by the cast.

CAN LOVE HAPPEN TWICE

This highly anticipated sequel by Ravinder Singh is an emotional roller-coaster that bravely explores the highs and lows of love.

When Ravin first said ‘I love you . . .’ he meant it forever. The world has known this through Ravin’s bestselling novel, I Too Had a Love Story. But did Ravin’s story really end on the last page of that book?

On Valentine’s Day, a radio station in Chandigarh hosts a very special romantic chat show. Ravin and his three best friends are invited as guests to talk about Ravin’s love story. But surprisingly everyone apart from Ravin turns up. As the show goes live, there is only one question in every listener’s mind: what has happened to Ravin?

To answer this question the three friends begin reading from a handwritten copy of Ravin’s incomplete second book—the entire city listens breathlessly, unable to believe the revelations that follow.

My Review-:

I had read “I too had a love story” (the prequel of this novel) and felt the dept, emotion of author. So the very next month I ordered this novel from flipkart, completed reading this novel within one day and here are some points good as well as bad.

Ã¨    The starting or plot of the story was quite likable and this time he starts it in a different style.

Ã¨ After reading two books of him I think Ravin is caring type, which is the most adorable part but from the beginning I didn't like the female protagonist (simar) due to her pampering nature.

Ã¨ This novel indulges the essence of present day love and the concept went down bellow my expectation level but still I cried as I mentioned about my special attachment towards tragic romance books.

Ã¨  After reading few chapters of the story, I was wondering how come he forgets Khushi so easily and fall in love with Simar, which feels a little unnatural.

Ã¨ And the most confusing thing after so many negative critics, how come this novel has average of 3.35 out of 5 rating in goodreads. So he has still so many fan and followers.

Can love happen twice is the second novel of Ravinder singh, his debut novel made him the heart of millions. Here i think that the author may be wrote it forcefully because he has to. So the soul is missing in this book and so is his talent.

I will recommend this book to those who really want to know what happen to Ravin after that disaster and to those who are crazy about his whereabouts.

Nevertheless Ravindar singh is still one of my favourite authors and I am looking forward to his upcoming novels. I had bought “love stories that touched my heart” edited by him and these days I’m reading that, will soon give my review.

Thank you for stopping by, i read each and every comment. So leave a comment to improve me.

I TOO HAD A LOVE STORY

Do Love stories ever die?

Can modern day gadgets like Mobile phones and the ‘http:\ www’ era of Internet bring you the love of your life?

You haven’t met her earlier, but commit to marry. Will you still call this a love marriage?

And what if on the engagement day while you pull the ring out from your pocket, you realize what you planned was just a dream which never comes true…?

How would you react when a beautiful person comes into your life, becomes your most precious possession and then one day goes away from you…forever?

Not all love stories are meant to have a perfect ending. Some stay incomplete. Yet they are beautiful in their own way. Ravin’s love story is one such innocent and beautiful story. He believes love stories seldom die. They are meant to stay for the generations yet to come and read them. And given that one chance to narrate his love story, this is how he began…

I remember the date well: 4th March 2006. I was in Kolkata and about to REACH Happy’s home. I had been very excited all morning as I was going to see our gang of four after three years.

My Review-:

I have read this book previous year after so many recommendations from my friends and websites that I follow, but after some chapters I feel strongly connected to this book. I always have a special temptation towards love stories with tragic ending and this book have it, to know it is a true story was even more touching.

Stories begin, transition occurs but some stories never reach their destination, people feel sympathy for that story, for the characters but they become stunned to know if the story is real, in that way they feel more attached to the story.

It needs a lot of gut to spill out the tragic truth in to pages so hats off to Ravinder Singh, I could feel the emotions of author that come straight from his heart and turn in to a beautiful book. He made his debut through this novel with honest, fresh and heart touching story. He has written this book in a diary style format. This book evolved him as India’s one of most popular romance writer and established him in millions of heart.

This novel is an adoring, earnest, emotional and tremendous truth saga. So this is a must read for those who believes in the magic of three words and those who value the emotion and sincerity. I would give this novel 4 out of 5 stars.

ENTWINED FATES

I have never believed in arranged marriages. I ‘m quite afraid of relationships too. But now I am going to have to experience all those, thanks to my parents.

“Come on Nidhi, you have to hurry,” mom shouted behind my ear bringing me back to my senses. “Have you packed your luggage? Have you taken your brush? Tongue cleaner? Phone charger…?”She just went on and on. Firstly, I am not a kid and I can take care of myself. Secondly, if mom and dad are really worried about me then they should not accept this marriage proposal from that farmer. How can I adjust with him and what about my dreams!?!

Today we were going to meet that village farmer boy. I hate it; I don’t even know why I am going there.

After six hours of train journey we finally reached there. Nayak uncle and aunty were in the station to greet us. I am aware of the real reason we were meeting the family. “Can I take your luggage?” I heard someone say, and before I could answer, that someone had already taken my luggage. I recognized him in an instant, it’s him! The farmer boy! He looked good, far beyond my expectation. So what!!! I won’t judge a person based on his looks, and I still don’t know his mentality!

We arrived at their house, finally. It looks gorgeous- a villa surrounded by nature. And the scenery is breathtaking.

We got our separate rooms and I was too exhausted for chats. So after taking a shower, I stayed to take an afternoon nap.

After dinner, I was trying to read a book when I heard a knock at the door. “May I come in?” I responded a yes. Here he was, “what happened?” I asked eagerly. “If you need anything, then inform me,” he said and I nodded.

He was about to leave then suddenly turned and asked, “What are you reading and where did you get that?” “It’s a book. I got it from your shelf.” “Do you love to read?” was his next shot. “Hmm… I love reading and what do you like to do” “I also love reading and, harvesting,” came his prompt reply. I frown at this. Who in the world loves harvesting?.....The silence lingers in the air. I realize I still didn't know his name and this was embarrassing, so I turned the first page of the book to see his name. “Ankush” I read it loud without realizing it. I paused, our gaze met for a brief moment, making me blush a little. “Good night, Nidhi,” he wished me and disappeared from my sight. I spend that night twisting and turning in the bed and blushing stupidly.

The next morning we all were going to visit their grape vineyard- I and my mom went with Ankush. “What have you studied, son?” mom started breaking the awkward silence. “Aunty I have completed my MBA and I am a scientist at the Indian Institute of Agricultural sciences.” Oh…my jaw drops.

“So why are you harvesting,” I asked with curiosity. “Because I love to,” he grins at me. “So you need a housewife?” I asked nervously. “Of course I need a wife but not definitely a housewife. If my wife wants to work, I’m ok with it,” he continued, “What more do you want to know about me, Nidhi?” My expression softened at this question. “Err...Nothing,” is all I managed to say.

The vineyard was beautiful; I had never seen anything like this in my life. Mrs. Nayak came to me and started explaining about the vineyard. “Do you like it? It’s where I implement my energy and time,” Ankush whispered. “Yes, I like it. In fact, I love this place,” I replied meeting his eyes, and our eye contact lasting more than the expected seconds.

While returning, I and Ankush went in a separate car. He took me to another farm. “Let’s go”, he said taking my hand and we moved towards the farm. I could see a small pond on the other side of that farm and the cold breeze blew my hair over my face. Everything was beautiful- picture perfect.
“Can I ask you something?” Ankush asked me after a while. I don’t know why, but I became nervous and started to tremble a bit. “Hmm,” I managed. “Don’t you like me?” I stared at him. “Yes, I like you,” I uttered.

“Then marry me,” he said, without hesitation. I was dumbstruck. Is he asking me to marry him? Is he proposing? “Yes,” I replied innocently. I couldn't help it. I couldn't read his expression. Is he happy? Why is there no reaction? Is he thrilled? He slid his hand on mine and planted a soft kiss on my palm. We looked into each other’s eyes. And that was the beginning of our love, our happy ending, our own “Happily ever after”.

THE LUCKY ONE

Story line-:

In Iraq, marine Sergeant Logan finds a photo of a young woman with the message “Keep Safe X” on the back in the debris of a construction and he keeps it in his pocket. His action saves his life from a mortar fire and he believes that the girl is his guardian angel that protects him. When he returns to Colorado, he has difficulties to adjust to civilian life with his sister’s family and he decides to seek out the woman. Logan researches the landscape and finds that the place is Hamden, in Louisiana, and he walks with his dog Zeus to Hamden. He discovers that the woman is Beth Green, who is the owner of Green kennels with her grandmother Ellie. When Logan meets Beth, he is unable to tell the reason why he had traveled to Hamden, she assumes that he wants the job that she had advertised, and Ellie gives the job to Logan. Soon Logan befriends Bet’s son Ben and becomes close to the family. But her ex-husband, Sheriff Keith Clayton does not want to make Logan’s life easy.

My Review-:

Frankly I quite like the romantic melodrama genre with stunning actors in the main role and breathtaking backgrounds in the whole movie, themes like fate and destiny, and this movie has it all. I think too many elements make this movie sometimes bland and unreasonable but still I like this movie and both the actors are photogenic.

The most highlighted factor in romantic movies is the chemistry between pairs, it never work like they are in love; the pair needs to make the audience believe in them. Here the actors are so good at it, that why this movie turns out to be a good one. But still it lacks the spark of “the notebook”. Well Nicholas Sparks is famous for, in a tale where everyone has redeeming qualities.

“Never let it be said that Nicholas Sparks doesn't prefer easy fake greeting-card melodrama to something that looks more like complicated reality.”

Marine Sergeant Logan played by Zack Affron is one of the confident actors. He is natural onscreen and has an appealing look, which counts as plus points. I have been his fan from movies like 17 again, high school musical series, in this movie he has tried to prove himself as he can be taken seriously but sometimes he wears a blank expression.

Beth Green played by Taylor Schilling also justifies her role; she plays with her expression beautifully by adjusting it in accordance with the situation. Taylor Schilling is best known for portraying piper Chapman in the Netflix original series Orange is the new black (2013-present).

I recommend this movie to those who are Nicholas Sparks fan, and I give three stars out of five.

SOMEONE LIKE YOU

THE HUM OF A MOTORBIKE
THE UPROAR OF THE CROWD IN THE STADIUM….
THE CHEERING AND CLAPPING
ALL FELT SILENT……
JUST THE THUMPING OF THEIR HEARTS REMAINED AND A QUESTION- WAS THEY GOING TO LOSE HIM?

Thanks to the makeover by her sister’s friends, the nerdy Niharika entered college more confident, more attractive. She met the sweet, shy tanmay, and the spoil but lovely pia and they became best friends. And when akshat and she began dating, life finally seemed to be falling in place.

EXCEPT THAT IT WASN'T…..

Tanmay’s success in football had begun to change him. Akshat’s perfection seemed like a front for something dark and sinister, and their college senior Karthik? His aggressiveness was a cover for his mysterious past.

My review-:

To start with I liked the story line; though the plot may give wrong impression to the reader (the plot is all about Niharika’s transformation from palace maid to princess. If I was an editor, I would definitely try to shorten those parts). Some scenes have that glorious impact that you can’t keep this book away from you, scenes in which emotions will take to their world and that world full of fun, sweet and sourness of friendship and love.

Now talking about the writers, the duos are marvelous in their own prospect of writing. Durjoy is changing his writing style in every book, I have read most of his books and my last favorite was “if it’s not forever! (2012)”, till I read this one. I already am a fan of Nikita Singh for her wonderful work in “THE PROMISE”.Together they make this book shine with quite perfection. I hope they keep this magic alive and in future give us their amazing books.

Then talking about my favorite scenes, I can’t differentiate which one. May be I like most of the scenes starting from her makeover, her meet with Akshat, her friendship with Tanmay and pia (though they are very adorable) to the hospital scene (which was implemented so well that you must get emotionally attached). I can’t reveal more about the story which I already have so much.

This book also will teach you some morals like never to trust anyone without any valid reason and never blame anyone before listen to the full mater as our karma has consequences.

If you have nothing to do and getting bored then better grab this book and start reading. It will erase your frustration level and keep you mind in peace. I would definitely like to suggest this book to everyone. It has that characters and background suited for the Bollywood diaries, so hope to see a movie like this.

Well I can rate this book 4.5 stars because of the deserving factor.

VAMPIRE ACADEMY

Run time- 104 minutes
genre- comedy, romantic, horror, action
Director-: Mark Waters
Writers-: Richelle Mead (novel), Daniel Waters (screen play)
Stars-: Zoey Deutch, Lucy Fry, Danila Kozlovsky

Story line-:

Rose Hathaway is a dhampir, half-vampire and half-human, who is training to be a guardian at St Vladimir's Academy along with many others like her. There are two types of vampires in their world: Moroi, who co-exist peacefully among the humans and only take blood from donors, and also possess the ability to control one of the four elements - water, earth, fire or air; and Strigoi, blood-sucking, evil vampires who drink to kill. Rose and other dhampir guardians are trained to protect Moroi and kill Strigoi throughout their education. Along with her best friend, Princess Vasilisa Dragomir, a Moroi and the last of her line, with whom she has a nigh unbreakable bond, Rose must run away from St Vladimir's, in order to protect Lissa from those who wish to harm the princess and use her for their own means.

My Review-:

I have waited so long for this movie as I am a vampire academy (novel) series fan but this was much more bellowing my expectation label. Richelle Mead's sharp series of young-adult novels might have been better off being adapted for long form TV, rather than the big-screen. I think this movie will be quickly forgotten, which is probably best.

To start with I have problem with everything regarding this movie, starting from movie poster to cast and acting. The movie poster is not quite attractive i mean pink and green. Richelle did a great job by adding horror, comedy and action to the young adult romantic genre but the movie was really a shame as Daniel Waters wrote the screenplay for HEATHER'S, which is one of the really nice films about school, though I still have not seen it.

The foremost disappointment was dimitri Belikov, from the expression of books i had mighty expression on him but the cast director  clearly tried because the actor Danila Kozlovsky is actually Russian , although, I don’t think they ever gave Danila a chance to actually speak in Russian? So, what was the point?  I’m just saying, He seemed a little too old (seems like in his thirties) for Zoey Deutch’s Rose, and he did look the worst in male-ponytail. The main issue though is that Danila Kozlovsky and Zoey Deutch had none of the chemistry that Rose and Dimitri have in the books – which was the sorrowful thing for me as vampire academy series is one of my favorite novels. I also did not like when dimitri called Rossa out of affection.

While i am talking about casting then Lucy Fry as Lissa Dragomir was another upsetting thing. I think lissa is very dull and boring in this movie. Sometimes it’s hard to read her expression and while hypnotizing people she was just expressionless. But what i hate the most is her mouth; she even can’t talk properly with her fangs. Another fact is that lissa and rose’s being shadow-kissed shown horribly in the movie.

The one or may be only good thing about this movie was Zoey Deutch as Rose; she really tried very hard to hold on to her character in this movie. I am serious she is just fabulous in her comic tone and serious lines.

Here the director tries to cover whole book in 104 minutes but fails to do so. The plot was awful as it was difficult to understand what’s happening so was the dialog. I really hope for remake of the movie in a better way or the adaptation for long term TV show.

I can hardly give it two stars out of five.

SHATTER ME by Tahereh Mafi

Juliette hasn't touched anyone in exactly 264 days.
The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette’s touch is fatal. As long as she doesn’t hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don’t fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.

The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war – and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she’s exactly what they need right now.

Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.

My review-:

I have completed this book as soon as I can because it pulled me towards it and made me desperate about what happened next. The story started with the female protagonist was in prison and narrating the outer world, her story and her misery.

I have read so many books but this was just DIFFERENT and UNIQUE in its writing style, which credit goes to the author Tahereh  Mafi. The author likes to play with words, words we can magnify them as they take you to another world of imagination. The most amazing thing is you can see and feel Juliette’s emotion, thoughts; some of her lines which I really like were

“For the first time in my life, I walk forward because I want to, because I feel hope and love and the exhilaration of beauty, because I want to know what it’s like to live.  I could jump up to catch a breeze and live in its windblown ways forever.  I feel like I've been fitted for wings.”

I admit I like her words and phrases but there were some lines which I still don’t understand after it for so many times of reading like

“Hate looks just like everybody else until it smiles.  Until it spins around and lies with lips and teeth carved into the semblance of something too passive to punch.”
Can anyone describe what it means? So Tahereh Mafi should be careful about her words as some of her lines made the reader frustrated.

I like the plot as well as the story line also but rather than a dystopian it should be a paranormal romance genre. The male characters were so strong in their corresponding ways; they can compel you and make you amazed throughout the story. As like other young adult category the main protagonist is pretty, kind and perfect but here she has a supernatural power, her touch is lethal.

The chemistry of Juliette and Adam was really likable and sort of cute though Juliette was growing some feeling towards Warner. I also quite attracted towards Warner due to his ambiguous personality and caring for Juliette.

I will give 4 out of 5 stars for the story and unique writing style. I will recommend it to those who love to read paranormal romance. I know some reviews will contrast with mine but I will love to see, it transforms in to a great movie.

THE LAST PRINCESS

A series of natural disasters has decimated the earth. Cut off from the rest of the world, England is a dark place. The sun rarely shines, food is scarce, and groups of criminals roam the woods, searching for prey. The people are growing restless. When a ruthless revolutionary sets out to overthrow the crown, he makes the royal family his first target. Blood is shed in Buckingham Palace, and only sixteen-year old Princess Eliza manages to escape. Determined to kill the man who destroyed her family, Eliza joins the enemy forces in disguise. She has nothing left to live for but revenge, until she meets someone who helps her remembers how to hope-and love-once more. Now she must risk everything to ensure that she does not become... The Last Princess.

MY REVIEW-:

It is an easy read and the story moves quickly but left me with so many questions. To start with I didn't understand the reason of roamers to be present in the story though they have nothing to do in whole story and probably the villain Cornelius Hollister was more powerful than the king as he had so many weapons and soldiers.

I feel the main protagonist “Eliza” was a strong character with so much disaster happening around her, she still never give up and tries to fight back for revenge. I feel sympathy for from beginning to ending as first she lost her mother then her father, her brother and sister was kept in prison for execution. The heart aching moment was when Portia cut her hair and burnt her chick as for every girl their hair is precious.

The author choose the words correctly for describing her struggle to survive in the cruel world but  fail to justify some logic like how can the queen eat something directly from a stranger at that time what were the securities doing , the connection between the royal family and Hollister, Eliza had a chance to live comfortably but she decides to stay and fight with the citizen, then the people appreciated her and can die for her but why can’t they die for their children and why didn't  they try to take the queen Mary (Eliza’s sister) and prince Jamie out of prison.

Moreover I can give 3 out of 5 stars to this book for its strong main character despite of improper plot,  story line and logic I still didn't hate this book neither did I feel wasting my time.
