“Papa, mama....I
got that job.” Ravi shouted loudly. His mother thanked God and father hugged
him tightly. “You don’t have to worry
now, soon we will move to a new house far from this village, I will buy you a
gold chain mama and I will admit papa in a private hospital.” He continued
breathless.
His father
was an asthma patient. Due to lack of money he couldn’t get treatment done.
They went to sleep that night and it was raining outside.
The next day landslide occurred and over 700 families washed
away along with their hopes, desires and wishes.
“But wishes
only are granted in fairy tale.”
Here’s my
first attempt for 100 words on Saturday from write tribe.

Monsoons are nostalgic , monsoons are a blessings, but only when you are secure and hopeful. True for all those survivors whom the tragedy struck this must have been an unbelievable disaster. A very different take on the prompt. Good one.
ReplyDeleteThanks jayanthi :)
Deleteyou are right about monsoons, sometimes it doesn't show its mercy to the people.
That twist in the end was unexpected and good, but some more build up in the beginning would have made this story more interesting. However, considering that this is a 100-word story, it's nice :)
