Director : Zoya Akhtar
Protagonists : Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol, Farhan Akhtar, Katrina Kaif & Kalki Koechin

[I'll be showcasing movies, which touched my heart, and giving my thoughts on them.]

My Thoughts :

One of the memorable movie for all and it's the best movie of the actors career. Three friends met and planned a holiday trip. One of them married to work and stuck in his professional life. On their journey they more people; some changed their life, some added more spice to their trip and some help them to overcome their fear.

The moto of this movie was "Enjoy your each and every moment. Because life mayn't give you any second chance or You can't even get a second life." I completely love all its casts and story line. I hope to see its second season or part.

YOU RAISE ME UP : Book Review

Book Blurb :

Aalok Sharma, a 27-year-old, chartered accountant, meets the vivacious and beautiful Priyanka Mehra, on a flight from Delhi to Mumbai. They are instantly attracted to each other, though completely opposite in nature. However, something is holding Aalok back. Will this thing throw a spanner in his love story? Or will he be able to overcome his demons?

My Review :

'You raise Me Up' is a story about two adults; Alok Sharma, a chartered accountant and Priyanka Mehra, a lawyer, who met each other in a flight. Apart from a fact that they  are completely opposite by nature, they got attracted to each other in the instant moment. Due to some reasons they got tangled into each others life. Though they began to fall for each other, still hesitate to express it. Alok has a deep past that is holding him back from accepting his feelings. Will his past come in the way of present and will it tear the relationship between Alok and Priyanka? This book will give you answers to these questions.

This book is for you adult and teens who can relate so much from this book. This story depicts the life style of modern people and their thoughts. This book is the combination of love, romance, commitment, promises and one's broken self.

The author Arjun Hemmady himself accepted that he has never been in a relationship. Neither has he read a romantic novel nor does he watch romantic movies. This reflected in this story. The story line is straight without any twists and turns, so in some places felt completely flat. Some of the scenes are completely predictable because may be I've read umpteenth number of romantic books. I think the author has the potential to rise higher, so he'll definitely shine in his next book.

What I like!!!

  • Well, I liked the author's attempt to write a novel with the fact that he hasn't read a single romantic novel nor even watched any romantic movie. I found the story is convincing and a quick read.
  • The writing style isn't complex also. So it'll be better for most of the age group readers to understand the story.
  • The author has divided the story into three parts; the first and third depicts the present and the second part depicts the past. So there is no confusion in understanding the scenes.

What I not like!!!

  • Well, there are some parts where I feel dialogues are put forcefully. Those parts felt little boring. Second thing, the author needs to work more on writing style.
  •  I didn't feel the story is gripping. I mean if I didn't feel the urge to complete it at one go. Thirdly, the characters should be more etched out.

Scope of improvement!!!

  • Well, this book has a lot of scope of improvements. First thing, the story could have been more gripping or some twists and turns should be added to spice up the story. Second, the writing style felt little flat.

It's a simple and quick read. if you're looking for a light read you can give it a try. I think it'll be more suitable for teens. I'll give it 2.75 out of 5 stars for the simple, convincing story line and the author's attempt. This book is recommended to all Indian romantic book fans, who will love to read a light story.

About The Author :

Born on 5th April 1989, Arjun Hemmady completed his schooling from St. Mary's ICSE (Mazgaon) and College from RA Podar College of Commerce and Economics. He is pursuing his Chartered Accountancy from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). His past times include writing, reading books and watching movies. He works in a manufacturing company.

YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI : Movie Showcase (#AtoZChallenge)

Relese Year : 2013
Director : Ayan Mukherji
Protagonists : Ranbir kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Kalki Koechin & Aditya Roy kapur

[I'll be showcasing movies, which touched my heart, and giving my thoughts on them.]

My Thoughts :

One of my favorite movie in 2013; the casts, theme of the movie, story line, background and screen play complimented each other. Sometimes we get confused to give much priority to whom; to your ambition, dream or your friendship. When we choose our dream over friendship, we called a selfish person. This is a feel good movie with above mentioned elements.

It's good to give wing to your dreams but it's not good to forget everything and everyone to achieve your dream. Because when you'll reach the top, there'll be no one to celebrate with you. The sparkle of Ranbir and Deepika's chemistry charm this movie and the energetic songs located bloom in this movie.

The Breakfast Alchemy: Slaying your Industry Demons

Gurgaon: April 20, 2016 – Mettl(https://pages.mettl.com/), India’s premiere talent measurement and assessment organization, announces its launch of The Breakfast Alchemy, which will see top HR leaders unite to battle against growing challenges fated to plague future outcomes in their industry.

What is this 'the Breakfast Alchemy' all about

  • 'The Breakfast Alchemy' is an event where top HRs will be discussing and solving the real time issues and case studies faced during Hiring. They'll also emphasize on hiring strategy in front of a live audience of 800 HR professionals.
  • Identifying the right skilled person for the company is the biggest responsibility of an HR and the identification should be done from multiple dimensions.

The unique initiative is set to replicate an Arthurian round table for the HR fraternity, enabling them a peek into multiple perspectives and possibly a foolproof solution. The inaugural Breakfast Alchemy would see premier banking, finance, and insurance leaders from big name companies such as Indiabulls, PNB Metlife, Religare, Max Life Insurance and PNB Housing brainstorm on a theme titled – Increasing High Performer-New Hire Ratio in BFSI, slated for 28 April between 10:00AM-11:30AM.

In an industry slowly becoming rife with high attrition rates and a target of negative bias for new career opportunities, the Mettl event makes a timely appearance. The case study format would see HR veterans deliberate on the issue to yield fruitful insights.

Why 'The Breakfast Alchemy' is one of a kind approach

  • What makes the Breakfast Alchemy a one of a kind approach is its ease of access. In addition to being free, the event will be streamed live, allowing top HR executives, Talent Acquisition Teams, Business Partners, Learning and Development teams among other enthusiasts tune in at the comfort of their environment.
  • Another thing, it's giving most HR professionals an opportunity to have an insight to the real world issues and case studies. They can watch the video in their comfortable environment also.

Mettl has even gone as far as developing a workaround for those who may find the time inconvenient, making the video recording available to all registrants post the event.

Why such title of this event

  • The play of words regarding the title of the event is well intended in the hope that the Human Resource leaders would don the cloaks of alchemists to forge gold, using their years of experience, out of a seemingly defeated situation.

The reason for Mettl's existance

  • Increasing the new hire-high performer ratio by deploying custom assessments for 30+ industries has been one of the reasons for Mettl’s existence. The rigor of the Breakfast Alchemy ensures that the audience can replicate conclusive practices from the alchemists in the BFSI vertical to create parallels for a strong human capital framework.

You can visit Mettl's site @(https://pages.mettl.com/tba) or by clicking this link to have a clear thought regarding this event.

Director : Vikramaditya Motwane
Protagonists : Rajat Barmecha, Ronit Roy & Ram kapoor

Most of the Indian middle class family children's father maintained society and they want their children to become either engineer or doctor. This story follows a simple yet beautifully written plot about a boy, Rohan, portrayed by Rajat who finds his escape in writing. He has a broken relationship with his father and slowly developed relationship with his step-brother, which he didn't exists.

You'll fall for this movie instantly; some scenes are adorable and all the casts have done their best to portray their roles and to make the movie feel like reality.

TAMASHA : Movie Showcase (#AtoZChallenge)

Release Year : 2015
Director : Imtiaz Ali
Protagonists : Ranbir Kapoor & Deepika Padukone

[I'll be showcasing movies, which touched my heart, and giving my thoughts on them.]

My Thoughts :

Some says 'Tamasha' is confusing and boring, some says the movie doesn't make proper sense as proper coordination isn't maintained among flashbacks, imaginative story, present and background musics. But for me, it's one of the nicest movie. It's a nice way to present the thoughts and imaginations of a soul, who is struggling for his identity.

You need patience to watch this movie and once you're into the movie, the protagonists will make you fall for them. Ranbir has radiated brightly his acting skill in this movie and Deepika is as usual good. The facts like sometimes we hide our self in order to become what people want and in such manner we forget what we really are. This is a thought provoking movie and has touched my soul in mutiple ways.

The main protagonists deeply involved in the movie and acted marvelously that make you believe in the story.

A DANCE WITH CORPORATE TON : Book Review

Book Blurb :

“What is someone like her doing in advertising?”

This was the question asked by a puzzled Britisher who was the Managing Director of a leading multinational company in India after he met her for the first time. It was a question that she sensed in the air around her right through her career.

She worked her way up from the position of Room Service Order Taker in a luxury hotel to senior management positions in the fields of Advertising and Marketing in India. But she always sensed that she did not quite fit into the corporate mould.

A Dance with the Corporate Ton (a phrase that plays on the haut or London ton) is a no holds barred chronicle of a woman's professional saga in India.

As a manager eyeing the corporate ladder of success, have you ever felt that people who are to the manor born have a home advantage? En route your climb to achieving your career goals, have you ever felt that you need to be much more than just talented, hard-working, committed and honest? Did you feel the need to change your personality to project a perceived corporate persona? If the answers to these questions are yes, then chances are you might find your own career stories reflected in this book.

The author, Lata Subramanian, will take you on a career journey that will make you relive the excitement of your first job; the exhilaration of career breakthroughs; the highs and lows of corporate life; and your search for personal meaning. Along the way, she will also make you smile a lot as her career autobiography is full of humor, satire, anecdotes and interesting historical references to aristocratic behavior.

My Review :

A Dance With Corporate Ton : Reflections of a worker ant' is the depiction of her journey in corporate world from a room service order taker in a luxurious hotel in hospitality department to manager in the advertisement and marketing company of India. This book is also an insight to the corporate world.

Lata Subramanian, the author knows how to play with words; she has kept some scenes hilarious and she made this book more gripping so that nobody can  leave it once started. The writing style is crisp. She has penned her experience in her professional life, her family and her surroundings.

This book will help the newbies in corporate sector. As a newbie, I can also relate so many things. I think the 'Fair and Lovely' concept still applicable, though not openly. I loved the clip-arts in so many pages. I must highlight the pace of the story is pleasant and one can see the glimpses to author's life.

I'll give it 4 out of 5 stars. It's recommended to all, who loves to read memoirs, wish to know about corporate sector and newbies in this sectors.

About The Author :

An Economics graduate, Lata has over 35 years of work experience across a range of service related industries such as Advertising, Civil Aviation, Hospitality,Marketing and Publishing.

She is a voracious reader and loves to write. Her love for writing led her to accept the post of Managing Editor, The Smart Manager; a position she held between 2008 and 2010 when she was in Publishing. She is now a hobbyist writer and blogger, publishing posts regularly onwww.latawonders.com

P.s. I was given the review copy for an honesh review.

QUEEN : Movie Showcase (#AtoZChallenge)

Release year : 2013
Director : Vikas Bhal
protagonists : Kangana Ranaut & Raj Kumar yadav

[I'll be showcasing movies, which touched my heart, and giving my thoughts on them.]

My Thoughts :

Some story teller enthrall you with the charm of their unique story line and some shock you with a simple yet string story line. This movie comes under the latter category. Rani, portrayed by Kangana Ranaut, is low on self esteem but later found her voice in her solo journey to Parish. Her transformation in terms of confidence was beautiful. After the groom denied to marry her on the marriage day, she didn't broke completely rather decided to rise, to go on her pre-decided honeymoon alone.

This movie highlighted Kangana's talent in acting. You'll love her innocence, her journey, her roommates, her silly jokes and some inspiring facts through her journey.

PIKU : Movie Showcase (#AtoZChallenge)

Release Year : 2015
Director : Shoojit Sircar
Protagonists : Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone & Irrfan Khan

[I'll be showcasing movies, which touched my heart, and giving my thoughts on them.]

My Thoughts :

I loved this movie because of Bhaskor Banerjee, portrayed by Amitabh Bachchan. His character might remind you you any of your relatives, constantly nagging about everything. He lives with a box full of homeopathic medicines and the color, quality and quantity of his ‘motion’. He loves her daughter but never display it publicly. He is a conservative Bengali, who always fights with his daughter but sings Bengali songs along with his daughter.

I loved the hilarious moments, the fights between the father and daughter, the road trip and the melodrama created in several scenes. I got inspired from Deepika's traditional looks and tried to dress up like her along with 'bindi'.

OMG Oh My GOD! : Movie Showcase (#AtoZChallenge)

Release Year : 2012
Director : Umesh Shukla
Protagonists : Paresh Rawal & Akshay Kumar

[I'll be showcasing movies, which touched my heart, and giving my thoughts on them.]

My Thoughts :

This is a realistic and thought provoking movie. But, I can say this is a complete Paresh Rawal's movie, though Akshay's role was small and pleasing. A Gujurati man sue GOD after losing his 'Antique shop' in an earthquake, for which the insurance company denied to pay. I liked this movie because it has lots of facts like "Believe in GOD but don't believe blindly" and "people shouldn't do business in the name of GOD".

MY BOOKISH TALE

An avid reader by nature, this time I got a chance to write for IndiSpire Edition no 113

Till now I’ve read hundreds or more books; some books left a deep impact on me, some make me desperate to read their more parts, some make me close to the authors and some make their place in ‘learning-something-from-it’ list. I never dislike any book but with time my taste change for books.

When I entered to the bookish world, Romance was my first priority. I loved romance novels from Durjoy Dutta. You can say I was one of those crazy fans of him, who stalks his every book. It was before I was introduced to foreign author’s books. When I was in my teenage, I had special liking towards fantasy, paranormal and romance books. I carved to read vampire books and those days my top most favorite author was Richelle Mead. I completed her ‘Vampire Academy’ series within a week. Her writings made me believe in vampire’s existence.

As time passed by my interest dropped from young adult, fantasy and paranormal series. And I moved towards spiritual and motivational fictions. ‘You can win’ by Shiv Khera make my interest towards self-help books. Now –a-days my favorite author is Paulo Coelho, though I’ve read only two of his books. Then how can I forget thriller and mystery genre! Agatha Christie, Dan Brown, Ashwin Sanghi are my favorite authors from this genre. If you’ll ask me don’t you like Chetan Bhagat? My answer will be obviously, after all I’m an Indian and how can I not like Chetan’s novels.
